Affinity Water have made an application to allow an increase in abstraction near Watford - to cover the possibility of HS2 damaging the aquifer by tunneling.
Following heavy rain, Thames Water's Chesham Sewage Treatment Works discharged sewage into the river on the 24th September.
With HS2 under review, please contact your MP if you have concerns about this project and its impact on our local rivers.
Please write to your MP before the 22nd July to encourage them to attend the House of Commons debate on the plight of chalk streams.

Good Turn Out For Fourth Public Meeting

Our fourth public meeting, held on the 27th October, had a good turn out at Blackwell Farm (Chesham), with a mix of landowners, people who work on the river and interested residents finding out about the RCA's recent activities.

Four RCA volunteers are now qualified fly monitors and will be undertaking monthly monitoring at 10 sites along the length of the river from Chesham to Rickmansworth.

The RCA has formally responded to Chiltern District Council's public consultation on their Draft Core Strategy. Part of CDC's Local Development Framework, the Core Strategy sets out how the central-government set target of 145 new houses in the district until 2026 will be achieved.
